SUMMARY:National Online Forensics (Nov 17-24)
DESCRIPTION:National Online Forensics (NOF)\n\nThey are hosting an “online” individual events contest… \nDate & Time: November 17-24\, 2025 (No. America) / November 18-25\, 2025 (China).\nHMDC Deadline: Sunday\, November 16\, 2025 (by 11:59 PM).\nResults: https://forensicstournament.net/OakAsync/25/results [Awards (Later!)]\nLocation (Zoom or 8×8): https://forensicstournament.net/elmasync/25 (along the right side\, there is a list of files to download\, and along the left side is the “Help Room: for help).\n1. Impromptu (Topics): [Click Here].\n2. Assigned Platform (Topics): [Click Here].\n3. Asynchronous Debate (Topics): [Click Here].\nEvents: “Speech Events Only!” (Grades 3-5 = Elementary\, and Grades 6-8 = Middle School).\nDivisions: This event is “open” (no novice division). \nIndividual Events (by Video): Videos must be sent to me by Sunday\, October 19\, 2025 (by 11:59 PM)!\n*You can send the video(s) to me via [WeChat] or [WeTransfer]. \nImpromptu (7 min): An impromptu speech\, substantive in nature\, with prompts varied by round. Prompts will be derived from concrete nouns\, abstract nouns\, proverbs\, famous people\, quotations\, or additional areas as announced in the tournament invitation.  Each speaker will draw three prompts and choose one.  Unless double-entered\, competitors should remain in the room to hear other competitors’ speeches.  Speakers may not consult with anyone else during their prep time. Speakers will have a total of 7 minutes for both preparation and speaking. Timing commences with the acceptance of the prompt.  Judges/designated timers should give audible time signals during competitors’ prep time and visual signals during the speech.  Competitors may use notes while performing.\nNote: Impromptu speakers may not use the same example in the same way in more than two rounds per tournament. For example\, a competitor may use Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. more than twice if in round 1 they discuss the “I Have a Dream Speech”\, in round 2 they discuss the “March on Selma\,” and in round 3 discuss the “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” However\, a competitor may not use the “I Have a Dream Speech” in more than two rounds\, even if the competitor is discussing different elements of the “I Have a Dream Speech” example in each round. This rule is intended to discourage the use of “canned” or memorized speeches in this event. \nAssigned Platform (3 min): Async Platform will ask students to record an original speech that the student has researched from the approved list (each tournament has a different list of ten topics for you to choose from).  The speech can be informative\, persuasive\, or entertaining (you get to choose). The speech should follow the standard organization for individual (not debate) speeches. Try using the “Impromptu” speech outline as a guide – it can work really well for this too.\nTopics = Assigned Platform topics will be released soon! \nAsync Debate (4+ min): Async Debate will ask students to record their affirmative/pro case or main negative/con strategy regardless of their particular debate event\, not to exceed eight (8) minutes.  For example\, one student may record their aff case for LD\, and another student will record their affirmative case for policy debate.  Another student may record their negative case for a public forum topic. Students may record speeches for limited prep debate events (such as NOF Parli/IPDA\,) given the resolution announced 48 hours before the video deadline. These videos will then be submitted online\, and the event will be run similarly to individual events. IMPORTANT: We must use one of the topics on their list (sorry). \nTournament Schedule: NA (We submit video recordings!) \nFor more information\, please contact me:\nBill Eddy (billeddy@gmail.com). \nPLEASE REGISTER HERE\nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Participant's Name *First and last. ty.Parent's Name *First and last. ty.Participant's EmailPls DO NOT use the parent's email.Parent's Email *For important updates.Participant's PhonePls DO NOT use the parent's phone.Parent's Phone *For important and/or urgent matters.Which tournament will you attend? *National Online Forensics (FEB 2026)NOF - Asynchronous (FEB 2026)NOF - Novice Nationals (MAR 2026)National Online Forensics (MAR 2026)NOF - Asynchronous (MAR 2026)Int’l Forensics Olympiad (MAR 2026)Other (See Comments).Concordia Invitational #1 (Oct 4)Concordia Invitational #2 (Nov 8)National Online Forensics (Nov 15)National Online Forensics (Nov 17-24)Harvard International (Nov 21-22)Int’l Forensics Olympiad (Nov 28-29)Int’l Forensics Olympiad (Dec 19-20)National Online Forensics (Dec 20)National Online Forensics (Dec 22-29)Int’l Forensics Olympiad (Jan 16-17)Harvard International (Jan 23-24)We must register for each event separately.Participant's Grade (or Adult) *Grade 1Grade 2Grade 3Grade 4Grade 5Grade 6Grade 7Grade 8Grade 9Grade 10Grade 11Grade 12Adult (18+)Only adults (or grades 11-12) can serve as a judge.NOF Live Events (Zoom): *Assigned PlatformAsynchronous DebateImpromptu SpeechNone (Debate Only!)Other (See Comments)Note: If debating\, then unlikely to be allowed to do speeches.Participant has Tabroom.com account? *Unsure (See comments)Yes.No.Some tournaments may require a Tabroom.com account (https://www.tabroom.com).Preferred Event(s) *Other (See comments)Public Forum Debate (PF)Lincoln Douglas (LD)Only Speech Events (IE)Both: Debate & Speech (If Possible)This is helpful information. ty!Prior Speech/Debate Experience *Other (See comments)None.1-2 Events3-4 Events5+ EventsWhat debate experience (if any) does the participant have?.NOF Asynchronous Events (Video Recording): *Assigned PlatformAsynchronous DebateImpromptu SpeechNone (Debate only!)Other (See Comments)Note: No debating\, these events are only for video recordings.Parent has Tabroom.com account? *Unsure (See comments)Yes.No.Parents may sometimes need to serve as a volunteer judge (https://www.tabroom.com).Partner Information (For Debaters!)Please list the names of people you prefer to be your partner. SUMMARY:National Online Forensics (Dec 22-29)
DESCRIPTION:National Online Forensics (NOF)\n\nThey are hosting an “online” individual events contest… \nDate & Time: December 22-29\, 2025 (No. America) / December 23-30\, 2025 (China).\nDeadline: Sunday\, December 21\, 2025 (by 11:59 PM).\nResults: [Break List]\, [Results]\, & [Awards (Video)].\nLocation (Zoom or 8×8): https://forensicstournament.net/pineasync/25 (along the right side\, there is a list of files to download\, and along the left side is the “Help Room: for help).\n1. \nIndividual Events (by Video): Videos must be sent to me by Sunday\, December 21\, 2025 (by 11:59 PM)!\n*You can send the video(s) to me via [WeChat] or [WeTransfer]. Try using the “Impromptu” speech outline as a guide – it can work really well for this too.\nTopics = Assigned Platform topics will be released (Around December 1st)!
