- [Research] Please do the following research (everyone!)…
Please select an assigned platform topic and do research about it. You just pick one side or the other, not both; it’s not a debate topic. Not all topics have a side; sometimes it’s just informative speaking, so you’re going to tell us about that topic and kind of teach us about it, okay? I also need you to finish any research necessary for self-driving cars. Additionally, I need you to do the research for topic number two, which is not currently posted, but it will be soon. It will be about the war powers of the president’s ability to use the military abroad, and I will post more about that. I need you to watch the required research.
… - [Writing] Please do the following assignments…
I need you to write a step-by-step, full-sentence outline for each of the following three speeches:
[New] The assigned platform speech for three minutes
[Old] The pro side of self-driving cars for four minutes
[Old] The con side of self-driving cars for four minutes
Additionally, I would like you to convert your notes that you have done on the War Powers Act and make a T-chart about restricting the president’s power, three to five per side.
… - [Speaking] Please practice speaking from your speech outlines…
I need you to submit your video recording of self-driving cars, where you pick one side or the other, and make a four-minute video recording based on your speech outline. I need you to practice speaking your assigned platform speech, but not a video recording. Just practice it so that you can deliver that speech during our next meeting. Be ready to discuss what we learned about restricting the President’s war powers. Perhaps practice your Crossfire technique using your T-Chart to assist you.
