2024 CSU Fullerton Online Speech and Debate Invitational
The 2024 CSU Fullerton Online Speech and Debate Invitational will take place virtually from Saturday, October 12 to Sunday, October 13, 2024, using the NSDA Campus platform. This tournament is open to high school and middle school students, and we will be competing in Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas debate formats only. The event follows NSDA rules, and all rounds will be held synchronously online. This tournament also provides an opportunity to earn a Tournament of Champions (TOC) Gold Public Forum Finals bid, making it an important event for those looking to progress in competitive debate.
Day/Date: Saturday, October 12, 2024
Time: 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM (Eastern, Approximate)
Location: Online (NSDA Classroom).

Debate Events: Public Forum (Middle School, HS Novice, & HS Open), and Lincoln Douglas (Middle School, HS Novice, & HS Open).
Public Forum (NSDA): The United States federal government should substantially expand its “surveillance infrastructure” along its southern border.
Lincoln Douglas (NSDA): The United States ought to require that workers receive a living wage.
Prizes: They will offer prizes (medallions/trophies) for the top teams and speakers.
Event Requirements:
1.) All attendees (Competitors and judges) must have an active Tabroom.com account.
2.) We must provide adult volunteer judges (or varsity students, grades 11-12, with experience).*
*They might accept ANY high school or college student as a judge for Middle Schoolers.
3.) We must have a parent chaperone to remain for the entire event.
Cost: $40+ per person depending on how many volunteers we have.

Saturday, October 12, 2024 (Pacific):
7:30 AM – 8:00 AM: Check-in for competitors, coaches, or judges (via Zoom, link TBA on Tabroom)
8:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Round 1
9:45 AM – 11:00 AM: Round 2
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Round 3
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch Break
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Round 4
3:45 PM – 5:15 PM: Round 5
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Round 6
Sunday, October 13, 2024 (Pacific):
8:30 AM – 10:30 AM: Double or Octafinals (All judges needed, pairings released at 8:00 AM)
ASAP: Octa or Quarterfinals
ASAP: Quarters or Semifinals
ASAP: Semifinals or Finals
Costs:
- $20 school registration fee
- $60 per Public Forum or Lincoln-Douglas team
- $200 additional fee per team if we do not provide a judge
- $2 administrative fee per attendee for 21st Century Debate
The total costs will be divided equally among all participants. To avoid the uncovered judge fee of $200 per team, we need volunteers to serve as judges. We also need a parent volunteer to manage our group during the tournament.
