21st Century Debate Championship

They are hosting a “full” debate event… [Event Guidelines] & [Event Results].
Date (Los Angeles): Friday, March 1, 2024, to Saturday, March 2, 2024.
Time (Pacific Time): Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Events: “Public Forum Debate”, Skills Debate, and Crossfire Champions (All events = all grades).
Note: There will be other extra events including essays and persuasive speeches (See the above guidelines).
Divisions: This event is “open” for middle school, but technically a novice division for high school.
Topic (NSDA): Resolved: The U.S. federal government should ban single-use plastics. [Research Page]
Essay/Speech Contest (Both): Please submit your essay and/or video to billeddy@gmail.com.
Note: If the video is too large for sending via email, then please use WeTransfer to send it to me. tyvm!
Important: All essays and speeches must take the “Pro” side of banning single-use plastics (no con side pls).
Prizes: They will have certificates, trophies, and/or medallions.
Cost: $25.00 per person (to be paid after the event).
