Model United Nations - Observations & Assessments
GIVING DIPLOMATIC SPEECHES
Opening/Debate Speech (Content and Delivery):
1-min to 2-min. These speeches often focus on a few facts about the problem, but the main focus should be on solutions. We don’t just complain; we try to provide workable solutions.
WORKING WELL WITH OTHERS
Unmoderated Caucus (Respect & Participation):
10-20+ min. Diplomats work together to create a working paper, and if it is well organized, it becomes a draft resolution that we vote on later. The goal is to work together and create meaningful solutions.
UNDERSTANDING PROCESS
Opening/Debate Speech (Content and Delivery):
The diplomats are responsible for running their own meeting, and the chair can offer advice; however, it is the delegates’ responsibility to raise their placards to make motions and vote properly (using the process).
