Registration for Zoom Classes
FALL SESSION (2023)
ZOOM CLASS REGISTRATION
The registration form below is for enrolling students in the online “Zoom” debate class. The cost for the online classes are as follows (per month*): $29.95 (Beg), $39.95 (Int & Int+), or $49.95 (Adv).
*Classes are billed for two months (per session).

IMPORTANT: This form does not guarantee a seat in the class – please do not make any payments until the day/time of the class has been confirmed. Once enough students are registered, we will then contact you via the email you provided to let you know the next step(s) and about payment. We appreciate your patience, thank you!

ZOOM CLASS COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
We currently offer the following programs: “Crossfire” Club (Beg & Int), “Skills” Debate (Beg), Public Forum Debate (Int), & Competitive Debate (Int & Adv)
*Advanced classes require experience and a great deal of self-reliance – prior training and tournament experience are both prerequisites to join.
Crossfire" Club
This is both an entry level as well as intermediate debate course designed to teach/reinforce debate fundamentals, yet focuses on crossfire*. There will be “Crossfire” events at the tournaments we host for students to further develop their skills. There will be several topics; with most being considered “fun” topics. We provide students with the research and teach them to make speeches and to argue back-and-forth in the “crossfire” style of arguing. Excellent for the younger grades!
Skills" Debate
This is an entry level debate course designed to teach the skills related to all styles of debate, yet focuses on public forum. There will be “Skills” Debate tournaments for students to further develop their skills. There will be one (or two) research topics along with some “fun” topics as well.
Public Forum" Debate
This is one of the most popular debate styles in the United States (& internationally as well). This course will help students prepare for upcoming competitions and teach intermediate and advanced theory necessary for competitive success. We will provide online tournaments for students to improve their skills.
Competitive" Debate
This course will help students to prepare for upcoming competitions and teach intermediate and advanced theory(ies) along with in-depth subject knowledge as necessary for competitive success. This course requires debate to be a prioritized activity and as such students must attend tournaments as either a debate competitor or a debate judge. This class debates regularly and requires students to be 100% prepared for each meeting. We have in-person as well as virtual debate contests for students to attend.

When working with young people, we want to ensure that students are provided with a safe and rewarding educational experience. We work with highly qualified professionals who are dedicated to the success of our students.
We need parent permission:
1. To permit us to teach these online classes.
2. To hold the organization and its people blameless should something go wrong…
(ex. harassment, bullying, and etc.).
3. To authorize the use of the student’s image, which may be used for training and/or marketing.

We want to ensure students are kept safe and are provided with a rewarding educational experience. We need students to promise not to engage in unsafe or inappropriate behavior during our classes and/or events.
We need student commitment:
1. To be kind and honest in their interactions.
2. To show respect to others (no bullying/taunting).
3. To come to class prepared.
4. To try their best in every debate/activity.
5. To follow the directions from the teacher/coach.

Our organization is not-for-profit and our goal is to provide a deeper learning experience for every child in America. Your donation helps us to serve those who otherwise cannot afford quality after-school programs such as those we offer here at 21st Century Debate .
We plan to offer self-paced and Zoom classes to students as affordably as possible. We are offering tuition waivers to families in need. To help pay for this financial assistance we accept donations.
